About
Hi. I’m Ilene. I’m a graphic designer. I entered the design biz back when the disks were floppy and phones still had cords. After graduating with a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, I moved to Vail, Colorado to become a ski bum. (My parents were so proud.) Since skiing doesn’t pay well for clumsy girls from Texas, I eventually moved back to Austin to become a full-time graphic designer. In 1998 I opened my own design studio and haven’t blinked or stepped outside since.
In addition to my design work, I keep busy as a cartoonist and writer. In 2010 I founded Blogathon ATX, an annual event for the Central Texas blogging community, for which I was honored with the Anne Durrum Robinson Creative Initiative Award and the Austin American Statesman Social Media Award. I live in Austin with my husband, Bill, and two useless lapdogs.
